This Fore Grip is easy to install. It takes a pretty standard size Allen wrench but it did not come with one. It attaches to the lower rail of a hand guard by sliding it on or separating it into two pieces with a small flat screwdriver, also not included. It can be positioned anywhere forward or back. I chose back since I recently removed my vertical grip because I found myself hanging onto the magazine well anyway. I have this grip almost all the way back to the well and I love it. As far as design goes, no issues. It is durable plastic so no extra weight added. It is not a novelty piece for some hobby shooter. It retails on their site…strike industries.com…for $25.00. I think they could get by in the $15.00 range because it is not a large piece and is not compatible with anything else. You can not mount a light on it or anything so it is a stand alone item. For what it is, I think it is a good product that will sell well. It comes in black or tan, I was lucky enough to get the tan.

Strike Industires Cobra Tactical Fore Grip

The Strike Industires Cobra Tactical Fore Grip I found to be an interesting attachment for any railed long gun. Initially, I thought this would be just another copy of the Magpul VFG and after using it, realize that it is much more. The foregrip attaches via sliding onto the rails and tightening an allen head screw to secure its position. This grip is much smaller than the Magpul version and thus takes up less rail space and weight, deifnately a benefit. The front edge has teeth and serves as a type of barricade support for more precision firing over low walls and fences. The grip portion held my hand in a comfortable position and has a vertical stop (the back side of the barricade support) to keep hands from sliding too far forward. It also enables hand positions behind the grip if so needed. I found this easy to hold in any of the positions shown in the directions and felt that my arm supported the weapon strongly.

Two issues I saw was the lack of an allen wrench to attach the grip, and the need to slide the grip onto the weapon from the front. The allen wrench should be supplied with the grip, as it is needed to attach it to the weapon. There is also no mention of the size of the wrench needed and I had to figure it out via trial and error. Sliding the grip onto the rail versus clamping it on can sometimes be tricky depending on how the gun is set up and the user may have to move lights, etc around to get the grip installed.
Overall, very impressed and I feel this will be a permanent accessory on my rifle.

These grips were supplied with several different screw bushings and a bright stainless high polish torx screw to attach the grips to a pistol. The grips are very strong and provided a very secure grip both with bare hands and gloves of several types. The magazine release cutout on the left grip seemed deeper than any other I've seen before, but allowed for positive depression on the magazine release, while still allowing a solid grip on the pistol for manipulations. The only critique would be that new in the package as delivered, the grip panels were flat in finish, but once they were exposed to cleaning oils, they became shiny. This didn't detract from their functionality, but did change their appearance as uneven in color for the areas exposed to oils or not. Overall, a very strong, well made product that provides a lot of "grip". I didn't care for the torx screws, as it's one more tool I'd have to carry in my cleaning kit/range bags. They were also very bright in finish, which isn't consistent with most duty pistols.

I received Strike Industries Extreme Slim Grip panels for a 1911 pistol. These black synthetic grips come with matte or semi gloss finish (I liked the matte), and also with a set of slim grip screws and grip screw bushings. I would suggest that the manufacturer include a small torx allen wrench in the packaging in the future. Installing these grip screw bushings is best done with specialized tools; a bushing driver and staking tool (which I have, how did you know?). The grip screws were torx-head and of a more ornate design than standard slot head.
The grips were smooth but with important design features: exposed mainspring housing pins, relief cut for an ambidextrous safety, and a dished cut for easier mag release activation (which I really liked). Most importantly, the plunger tube was fully supported, which is often overlooked and is an important safety feature.
I prefer 1911 grips of the slim variety (heresy), and found these were slightly thicker than other slim grips, subjectively in between slim and regular grips. The smooth grip surface was not slippery and provided for good weapon control even without any texture. Of note, the grip screws did not come loose at any time during this test, which is a good thing. The synthetic material appears to be impervious to bug spray and non-chlorinated brake cleaners, two of the harsher chemicals they are likely to encounter.
Functionally, I rate these grips highly as they are well made with good design and function. Since, 1911 grips come in a myriad of styles, designs, and materials; choosing a set is highly subjective... like picking a mate subjective. While I prefer a more classic style, these grips looked good and worked very well.

The MITCH handguard fit the weapon well and was easy to install. The product was constructed well. The multi-functional grip was easy to adjust and worked flawless. Once the adjustments were made the MITCH system fit well in the hand and makes a steady shooting platform. I found the MITCH handguard comfortable and easy to maintain in a standing, kneeling and prone shooting postion. What I did not like about the MITCH handguard is it does not have the rail attachments to add a weapon light or additional accessories.

Recoil (shock) Buffer for the Glock pistol eliminates the metal slide from impacting the polymer frame. It works so well that many people believe they should be installed in all guns by their manufacturers. Unfortunately, this is not yet the case. This repeated impact batters the frame where the two parts come into contact. Stopping this battering is accomplished by inserting the buffer between the recoil spring and the slide. Each time the action is worked or the weapon is fired the buffer comes into contact with the frame, not the metal slide. Installation of the recoil/shock Buffer will result in reduced felt recoil, enhanced muzzle control and a longer service life. Those who install recoil/shock buffers into their Glocks will not only be protecting their investment by prolonging its service life, but they will also find that the recoil is reduced and muzzle stability is increased. The recoil/shock Buffer will fit models 17, 17L, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 24C, 31, 32, and 37.
According to the designer web site: A Recoil Buffer is designed to cushion the trauma your bolt and receiver experience during normal cartridge discharge. Each carefully designed buffer is made from polyurethane with specific shock-absorbing properties. When it is placed between the bolt and what it slams against at the extreme range of its travel, the buffer acts as a gentle cushion. Without the buffer, the bolt is driven backwards to make direct violent contact with another piece of steel. In time, this pounding takes its toll. The gun becomes less accurate and the action becomes dangerously loose. Polyurethane with specific shock-absorbing properties. Buffer absorbs the shock from the action operating, rather than having metal to metal contact. Long life cycling up to 2000+ Rounds. Installation is easy. Simply place the recoil/shock buffer against the inside of the slide where the front of the recoil spring normally rests. The recoil/shock buffer is molded to mate perfectly with the contours of the slide.
The Strike Industries Battle Case for the iPhone 4 is a molded plastic phone case with a loop on the bottom similar to the original Magpul Loop. Strike advertises this as a faster “reload” or “draw” when removing the phone from your pocket. I was doubtful at first and thought of this as a gimmick, or trendy way to sell phone cases. When the case arrived it was rigid and the loop was very stiff.

It is and was still very easy to put the phone into the case. However, once the phone is in the case, it has never come out accidentally. I found the loop actually was beneficial in getting the phone out of my pockets quicker. I’ve been using the case for 45 days. I’ve carried it in coat pockets, cargo pockets on my pants, and the kangaroo pouch on my tac vest and found it was easy to get my phone out quickly. I can’t say the same for the Otterbox I had been using before this. I’m also a phone dropper. I went through two iPhone 3S’s and am on my second iPhone 4.

In the time I’ve been testing this case I haven’t dropped the phone once, the case has ridges cut into the sides that help you get a grip and if you’re really worried you can hook your little finger through the loop as added security.
I received a Strike Industries iPhone 4 Battle Case to test and from the moment I took it out of the package I could feel that it was very well constructed and would most likely do a good job of protecting my iPhone 4 which takes a great deal of abuse. The fit was right on for my IPhone 4 which I cannot say
of some of the other cases I have used, however because of the tight fit it made it a little difficult to get the phone in and out when I needed to.

The screen covers that came with this case did a good job of protecting my screen while not affecting the function of the touch screen to severely. Overall this product did a great job of protecting my iPhone 4 and I will buy another when the time comes.

Sometimes you just need a pair of cheap 1911 grips. Strike Industries textured dimple pattern grips are the cheapest 1911 grips available, at just $15.95 for a pair.

However, despite being inexpensive, our 1911 grips are highly functional and durable, being constructed of heat-resistant and moisture-resistant polymer. The golfball dimple texture provides great traction for your palms, preventing slippage due to recoil or moisture and ensuring that your shot is as accurate as it can be.

Finally, the grips are also just plain sexy. The semi-gloss but non-reflective black finish stands out beautifully against a brushed silver 1911, and does not look cheap at all.

Why pay more for antique wood or carbon fiber 1911 grips, when our cheap 1911 grips will do the job just fine? These 1911 grips are perfect for everyday carry, and are no big loss if you happen to scuff them up during the heat of battle.
This is a review of the Strike Industries Cobra Series Trigger Guard. They are available in black, tan, and OD green with a suggested retail of $10.50 (or at least Amazon has that price) a piece. First and foremost, when I received this trigger guard I immediately thought of the Magpul trigger guard currently on my personal and issue rifle. It looks, feels, and acts exactly the same. The only differences I can tell are these: the Cobra guard appears to have a more pronounced bend in it than the Magpul guard which has a smoother curve to it and the Cobra guard has ridges built into it to give texture to the guard where it touches the middle finger. I guess the sharper bend means the Cobra guard gives you a bit more space around the trigger but I didn’t notice a difference. As with the bend, I didn’t really notice the texture when manipulating the rifle either bringing it on target or switching magazines. It literally felt the same as if I hadn’t gone through the trouble of switching out the Magpul guard.

My package contained both a “straight” guard (as described above) and a “right” guard. The only difference is the right-handed guard has a wing built into it so that your trigger finger when properly indexed is “resting.” Cool idea in theory, I guess, but unnecessary. I never noticed a need for it in the past and can say my feelings are the same today after testing this guard with several trips to the range. To me it boils down to price, the Magpul guard retails for half the price of this one and I wouldn’t spend double on the wing to rest my trigger finger. Will this work if you have one? Yes, and it does a decent job too but I wouldn’t pay the extra $5 for it.

The one thing I didn't mention is that if you don't have an upgraded trigger guard, you're missing out. The stock guard is TERRIBLE! spend the $5 or $10 and replace it. The increased size of the trigger well and the ease of manipulating the rifle easily pays that bill.
Cobra Trigger Guard
I received the Strike Industries Cobra Series Trigger Guards, in the ambidextrous and left handed versions, for evaluation. The trigger guards came in OD green. These triggers (as well as with other manufacturers) are designed so that you can squeeze the trigger of an AR platform rifle while wearing gloves. I have seen these enlarged trigger guards before, however from what I can see the Strike Industries Cobra Series are the most reasonably priced. Some more expensive trigger guards however are made from metal. The Cobra series are made from polymer. In California, the weather does not get below freezing much, so I can’t evaluate how well the polymer holds up in freezing conditions. The Cobra guards do flare wider to the sides, so your finger will have a wider area to rest on, while on trigger. This wider flare may help an inexperienced shooter with trigger pull.

I did not need my armorer skills to install these. After removing the old trigger guards, the Cobra series installation went smoothly. Their dimensions appeared to be “mil-spec.” Instructions with pictures are included in the package.

After installation I test fired the rifle while wearing Oakley tac gloves. The Cobra trigger guard opened up some space and gave me plenty of clearance around the trigger, so I could easily fire the rifle with gloves on. The Cobra guards did what they were designed for, they were easy to install and they are economical. I recommend the trigger guards.
I tested the Strike Industries Cobra 01 AL trigger guard. The package I received in the mail included an ambidextrous and left handed model. I installed the ambidextrous model on my AR platform. I liked that it was elongated so a gloved finger could fit in the trigger guard easily, and that the wings that stick out the side make it easy to know where the trigger is without having to search for it or have your finger in the trigger guard completely. This is a lot of help when wearing heavy winter gloves and you can not feel the trigger as easily. There are only two small things that I did not like about the Cobra. Number one was that the plastic it is made out of feels cheap and soft, but it did not break during any of my cold weather trainings we are having right now. The other problem is that to install this piece you should be an AR rifle armorer because the pin that needs to be removed and installed go through the weakest area of the gun and the proper tools and bench blocks are needed for this. Or other wise you can break the trigger guard ears off and then you have to buy a whole new lower. All in all though I feel this is a nice addition to the rifle to make it easier to use.
I just don't have anything negative to say about the Strike Industries Polymer Extreme 1911 pistol grips. They are exactly as advertised. First and foremost was the ease of installation. Unlike some aftermarket pistol grips, everything lines up perfectly for an effortless mounting. The design is fairly straightforward but the difference is in the durability. These grips are built to last. I detected no wear at all despite the constant use of my sidearm in a full holster. The patterns are attractive, but at the same time functional as the surface allows for a reliable grip in various conditions. The wide variety of pattern choices available should suit any shooter and/or collector. A very nice product that I would recommend to any 1911 owner.
I recently had the opportunity to test the Strike Industries line of Polymer Extreme 1911 Pistol Grips. The grips designed to be black in color and made of a hard polymer plastic, come out of the package an O.D. green color. However I quickly found out after taking my Kimber Seminole Warrior for a swim( in a ditch chasing a suspect ),that the green color is a residual dust that is left on the grips from the factory. It then struck me odd that all of their grips came from the factory needing to be cleaned by the consumer instead of being ready to go right out of the box. However once this was figured out and the grips were cleaned there were no issues with the quality in which they were built, their ease of application or their performance.

The Grips that I have had on my 1911 were factory Kimber rubberized grips. In getting use to these and the tackiness of the grip I was concerned that the harder polymer grips were not feel as secure in my hand. However the aggressiveness of the pattern cut into the Stream Line, Sunrise and Golf Ball Dimple patterned grips proved to be more than sufficient. The grips allowed the weapon to have a secure feel to them and also were designed with a notch in the left side grip which allowed easier access for the thumb to engage the magazine release. I was pleased with the overall design of all of these grips. The only set I don’t think I would carry as a tactical operator were the non textured grips. They are smooth by design and do not provide as secure a grip as the others. They are still well built it’s just they are more for show than business.
I got the oppurtunity to try the polymer extreme 1911 grips. I recently won my first 1911 during a charity raffle. Right after that I was sent these grips to test. Talk about good fortune. I placed them on my new Sig-Sauer XO .45 1911. I was already quite satisfied with the stock grips. However, I had to try out the greyish/green Extreme grips with the subdued stars and stripes imprinted on them. It really gave a nice look to the gun. It was a bit smooth. I'm not quite sure how they would work in wet weather. The other set of grips was more of a diamond pattern and increased the texture of the grip. I'm quite happy with both sets of grips and the timing of the test.

Without a doubt, black 1911 grips on a sleek brushed metal 1911 pistol is a beautiful combination. Black 1911 grips are more contemporary and tactical than your grandfather's rosewood grips, and more functional than your grandfather's tortoise shell or ivory grips. In the end, the grips you choose to put on your 1911 are the result of a combination of factors, such as the grip profile of your 1911, intended usage conditions (display, personal defense, competition), and of course personal aesthetics.

Without further ado, our rundown of the 5 best black 1911 grips on the market today.

1. Strike Industries Extreme Series 1911 Grips - Golfball Dimple Pattern ( Semi-Gloss Black ) $15.95

Call us biased, but for the price ( $15.95 ), you can't do better than Strike Industries' semi-glossy--a matte gloss, only slightly reflective--black polymer grips. They are constructed out of a special polymer formulation that is heat and impact-resistant, making them ideal on a gun that will be used in tactical situations. Furthermore, the golfball dimple texture offers just enough traction, and makes these grips a joy to hold.
